The Funky Chicken Massacre began as a two-minute short made in a single day at Kahuna’s. Two bartenders from the Salty Peach came in with a chicken toy, and I joked that it could become the next Chucky. They laughed and told me, “You can’t make that chicken scary.”
So I took it as a dare.
Using the toy, the location, and whatever I had available, I created the original short as a playful experiment in horror, performance, and editing. The film was later extended into something larger, stranger, and increasingly absurd, but it never lost the spontaneous energy of that first day.
The Funky Chicken Massacre was made for the fun of following a ridiculous idea as far as it could go, and proving that, with enough commitment, even a plastic chicken can become a horror villain.
